Abstract:  This interactive workshop is co-presented by a Speech-Language Pathologist and a Behavior Analyst to underscore the developmental variables impacting early communication. Our SLP presenter will share speech-specific considerations for teaching children language. The BCBA will highlight practical strategies for incorporating these concepts into ABA therapy. Attendees should expect an interactive workshop, with frequent opportunities for active student responding. Finally, we will discuss productive inter-professional collaboration to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Training Objectives:
Attendees will:
-Label the developmental sequence of speech sounds
-Identify pre-linguistic skills for early communicators
-Describe circumstances under which interdisciplinary collaboration is necessary for case management
