Dr. Templin has worked for many years in forensic psychiatric care, as a counselor, and as a behavior analyst in different settings. He recently completed his PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis at Endicott College. For years, Dr. Templin has been part of the Forensic Behavior Analysis SIG, and taken part in several panels and other presentations on the topic of forensics, ethics, competency to stand trial, and forensic behavioral case conceptualization. He frequently speaks at the ABAI Annual Conference. Dr. Templin currently has a podcast called Criminal Behaviorology and participates in a group known as the Crime and Behavior Academy providing training and consultation on crime and behavior analysis.
Description:
This webinar focuses on how behavior-analytic tools are being used across forensic settings, including areas of fitness to stand trial, social validity, measurement of presenting problems, generality as a dimension in forensic settings, and solving problems from a systems perspective. Current challenges in the field and possible solutions will be discussed. The goal of training, supervision, and employment, a common concern for those pursuing this field, will be examined.
