Description:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) offers behavior analysts practical tools for addressing rigidity, avoidance, burnout, and treatment resistance in both clients and caregivers. This webinar
introduces ACT through a behavior analytic lens and demonstrates how psychological flexibility processes can be integrated into everyday ABA practice. Participants will learn brief, evidence-aligned strategies for
incorporating values clarification, cognitive defusion, and acceptance into sessions, supervision, and caregiver coaching.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe psychological flexibility and its relevance to behavior analytic treatment outcomes
- Identify at least two ACT processes that can be incorporated into ABA sessions
- Apply one ACT-based strategy to address client or caregiver avoidance/resistance
- Implement a brief values-focused conversation to support treatment engagement
