Article: ChatGPT versus clinician responses to questions in ABA: Preference, identification, and level of agreement

Objectives:

  1. Learn about current AI use in practice
  2. Discuss ethical considerations when using AI
  3. Engage in discussion about the article (e.g. participants, procedure, data collection, strengths, limitations, and future research)

 

Facilitator: John Tolson, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA

Facilitator Bio: John Tolson is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with nearly 15 years of experience supporting individuals across public schools, private programs, and nonprofit service organizations. He earned his Master’s degree in Special Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed specialized coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis through the Florida Institute of Technology. He has worked in public and private school settings using the science of ABA, as well as at a non-profit ABA provider where he served as a Program Director. He has managed teams of clinical staff and experience providing supervision to BACB certificants. John currently works as a behavior analyst for the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) where he focuses on quality assurance for the DD Waiver service Therapeutic Behavioral Consultation. John has recently presented on numerous topics within applied behavior analysis, including effective feedback practices, consultation models, and emerging research on interventions for adults with challenging behavior. Most recently, he has developed a growing interest in the evolving role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and ABA, exploring how these technologies can enhance clinical decision‑making, service delivery, and outcomes.
