The Licensed Behavior Analyst provides Therapeutic Behavior Consultation services by providing expertise, training, and technical assistance to assist family members, caregivers, and other service providers in supporting individuals who engage in behaviors that are preventing effective and efficient implementation of their Individualized Service Plan (ISP) in home and community settings.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS AND PREREQUISITES
– Master’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field required
– Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required
– Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) by the Virginia Board of Medicine required
– Minimum one year experience working with individuals with Autism, Developmental Disability (DD), Intellectual disability (ID) and/or Emotional Disability (ED); experience working with adults preferred
– Knowledge of Person-Centered Planning preferred
– Experience providing behavior support to multidisciplinary teams
– Ability to cultivate teamwork and foster staff professional development and competency
– Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, family members, caregivers, and community members
– Serve as a mandated reporter
– Adherence to a high level of professional and ethical standards
– Valid Virginia Drivers’ License and proof of insurance
– Satisfactory Driving Record in accordance with agency standards
– Willingness to travel to sites throughout the state
– Ability to organize work effectively and manage own schedule
– Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and complete required paperwork according to agency, licensing, and regulatory requirements in a timely manner
– Basic computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office
– Ability to observe health and safety regulations
– Ability to assist with crisis de-escalation techniques, including physical management, and to obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and Safety Care

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May be required to perform any of the following duties:
– Complete screening assessments for individuals referred for Therapeutic Consultation services
– Complete and submit all necessary internal and external paperwork to initiate Therapeutic Consultation services including the Part V/Plan for Supports and service authorizations
– Complete Functional Behavior Assessments through interviews, checklists/questionnaires, review of historical documents, observation, and data collection/analysis
– Develop individualized therapeutic consultation behavior support plans in collaboration with the individual’s therapeutic consultation team using a person-centered approach
– Graph and review data collected on behaviors targeted for decrease and replacement behaviors targeted for increase
– Lead meetings with the individual and members of the individual’s therapeutic consultation team to identify issues to be addressed and the desired outcomes of services and to discuss effectiveness of the behavior support plan
– Train the individuals responsible for implementing behavior support plans using Behavior Skills Training (BST) and provide follow up monitoring to ensure fidelity of implementation
– Update behavior support plans as needed based on review of the data and discussion with the individual’s therapeutic consultation team
– Complete all required documentation for services including service/contact notes, quarterly person-centered reviews, and discharge summaries and forward to the appropriate parties in a timely manner
– Attend annual person-centered planning meetings as requested
– Maintain confidentiality of all client information
– Understand and follow all regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures
– Meet continuing education requirements to maintain professional certification(s) and licensure
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of ABA Services and Director of Developmental Services
