Working Hours:
-Monday – Friday – 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
Qualifications:
-High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
-Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred; candidate must demonstrate mastery of RBT skills if entering organization with certification
-Ability to work with students with a variety of ages and abilities
-Ability to take direction and work independently
-Candidate must submit to a background check, fingerprinting, and TB test if hired
-Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care preferred but not required
-Must be able to complete physical requirements associated with the job
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Primary function of the position:
-Responsible for implementation of educational plans for individual students, including management of self-care and functional skills
-Interacts with students in all environments throughout the school day
-Works closely with teacher to manage individual student needs
Physical Requirements:
-Occasional traversing throughout assigned school building(s)
-Often sitting or standing for extended periods
-Moderate lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
-Manual dexterity to use office equipment
-Ability to write legibly
-Ability to communicate with students
-Ability to assist students who are playground equipment, if applicable
-Ability to use Safety Care procedures; lifting, holds, releases, escorts, etc.
Specific functions of the Position:
-Attend all staff development training and site meetings as assigned
-Provide direct instruction services to students
-Record data on data sheet immediately or as soon as feasible after a target behavior occurs
-Implement programs and Behavior Intervention Plans as written with at least 80% accuracy
-Assist with toileting and other hygiene and daily living needs of the students
-Foster independence with all programming, daily living, and vocational tasks
-Interact with students in all environments including: field trips, recess, meals, and breaks
-Ensure all programming materials and data sheets are prepared for the student’s arrival at 8:15
-Graph all data at the end of the school day.
-Maintain program books as assigned following Children’s program documentation guidelines
-Complete daily data logs for parents using professionalism guidelines
-Direct all parent questions and concerns to BCBA
-Maintain student area by keeping it clean and organized on a daily basis
-Maintain daily communication with teacher for program development
-Ask teacher for clarification and additional training as necessary
-Maintain a professional relationship with families, staff, and other professionals
-Complete additional assignments as determined by your supervisors
-Complete and adhere to physical training management protocol
-Complete and adhere to curriculum training protocol
-Other duties as may develop or are assigned
