From defining the business opportunity and analyzing behaviors and results, to diagnostics and solution planning, participants will leave the workshop with ideas of how they could use OBM within their organizations.
Other topics covered during the workshop include engagement, stakeholder management, planning for sustainability, and high-level project planning for OBM practitioners. Additional readings and further opportunities to learn and apply the science are also discussed.”
Regarding the workbooks that are included with registration:
“The OBM Applied! A Practical Guide to Implementing Organizational Behavior Management is a four-volume workbook series written by Manuel Rodriguez, Daniel Sundberg, and Shannon Biagi.”
Corey L. Robertson received his M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis and Organizational Behavior Management from Florida Institute of Technology in 2006 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2007. For the past 9 years, Corey has been dedicated to developing competent behavior analysts through his work as Lead Co-Instructor for FL Tech’s online professional development program, and through direct and distance supervision of certificant seekers. He is also passionate about the growth and dissemination of the field through social media, serving as admin for several behavior analytic Facebook groups and maintaining the ‘behaviorguy’ page and website.
Allison King, BCBA, received her Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology in 2017, where she currently works as an adjunct professor, supervising students doing their practical training in Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) and instructional design. She currently works at ABA Technologies, Inc., in partnership with Florida Institute of Technology’s Office of Continuing Education to develop, coordinate and teach some of Florida Tech’s leading-edge continuing education and professional development courses. Allison spent the majority of her graduate career applying OBM to issues within healthcare and human-service settings. Some of her most exciting work involved consulting for a large health system, where she earned her Lean Green Belt certification for leading a project to reduce preventable patient falls, developed and taught the health system’s first OBM workshops, and coached hospital leaders to apply these methods to enhance patient experience scores to the top 10 percent. Allison’s passion is to get creative with the science of behavior by sharing it with others and applying it to new areas.

VABA is hosting a career expo and reception in conjunction with the OBM APPLIED! event. This is an opportunity for organizations to highlight their unique capabilities to the Virginia behavior analytic community and to showcase the different positions available for those interested in practicing behavior analysis. This is also an opportunity for participants to learn more about the variety of organizations around Virginia who employ BCBAs, BCaBAs, and RBTs and the type of careers they offer their employees. A reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will immediately follow the workshop (5 to 6 p.m.).
Cost includes exhibit table and event registration. Spaces will be given on a first come, first serve basis. Exhibitors can set up in the morning before the event begins and will have an opportunity to talk to participants during lunch and other breaks. In addition, exhibitors are encouraged to stay for the reception after the event. Participants will be given an “organization bingo” which will encourage them to talk to all exhibitors.
