Christy is the inaugural winner of the E.Scott Geller Award for Distinguished Service to Behavioral Science

Christy has been passionate about advocating for behavior analysis since 2010 when she learned the Autism Insurance law could not be enacted because it included a license clause.  She was the consumer member of the working committee to develop the license, as her son was receiving ABA services at that time. Since then, she has worked to ensure that the behavior analysis profession is viable and thriving in Virginia, introducing and lobbying for other laws that affect the profession and serving on many workgroups and committees.  This year, she published a paper on advocacy in Behavior Analysis in Practice.

Christy served as the president-elect of VirginiaABA in 2013-15, and the president from 2015-17.  After that she served as Administrative Director and then Executive Director. She will be stepping down from that role in June of 2024 to pursue other passions. Christy is the incoming Director of Human Resources and Operations for Motivity Systems, an adjunct instructor for Mary Baldwin University, and the current treasurer of the B.F. Skinner Foundation.   She lives in Mechanicsville with her husband, three children, and nephew.

Christy is honored and humbled to accept this award and looks forward to continuing her prosperous profession in behavior analysis in the Commonwealth for years to come.
